Black vintage suitcase, 1930s Travelite by Carson wooden suitcase, very worn /w ton of character
A battered old suitcase in black, according to the little label, it's a Travelite by Carson, patented 1932. This canvas on wooden board suitcase has plenty of marks of age and use, showing the board base underneath. It closes with 2 spring clasps, it has 4 metal feet to protect the case when it's on the ground and a tan leather covered handle. A great little decorators piece for storage as it's stackable or as a movie prop, for TV, theatre or photography.
With loads of marks of age, use and abuse. There are scuffs and scrapes and losses to the black canvas covering, so the wooden base is showing through. The leather cover finishing on the base of the handles are missing. The handle is cracked on the leather, but remains sturdy. The closures work well. The inside in a blue satiny lining. The straps in the lid are missing. With chalk powder in the back pocket (I found a piece of chalk in there so rest assured - it's chalk). front divider missing.
