Victorian silver plated oil lamp by Simpsons, Hall, Miller & Co

A simple yet elegant table standing oil lamp, with hinged lid / snuffer. Marked on the bottom: 'Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co, Quadruple plate', This company was in operation until 1899 when became part of the International Silver Company headquartered in neighbouring Meriden. The top unscrews to allow for refilling of the lamp and replacement of the wick. In good condition with marks of age and use, especially to the bottom. Size: 9 cm diameter, 9 cm tall
