Antique copper box, vintage metal traveling jewelry ring box, small jewelry box, antique watch case, trinket box, hand hammered copper box
A highly unusual hand hammered copper box, possibly originally a watch case, this copper box would now serve well as a small keepsake box, an engagement ring box or small traveling jewelry box. Use it for small items, put a photo of a loved one in it and wear it as a statement necklace, or display it as the beautiful little casing that it is.
There is a open ring (part of the hinge) at the top, which can easily be used to suspend it from a necklace or leather thong. The casing closes with a small copper screw, making it quite secure. Be careful not to lose the screw as it's original to the piece!
This item most likely dates from the Arts and Crafts period, between 1880 and 1910, when traditionally crafted, simply formed items made of copper and brass were quite popular.

Very good. The pieces of lining on the inside are new and are not glued down (just pressed in). The patina on this piece is very nice indeed and I would recommend NOT polishing this item.
