Apothecary Cabinet, vintage general store display cabinet (free Canada shipping)
A vintage wood and glass apothecary or general store display cabinet for your everyday nail caring essentials dating ca 1950s. This would be a really cute cabinet in a beauty salon or home setting and would looks great holding professional supplies, bathroom essentials or crafting goods. This cabinet can be turned into a small shelving display unit by simply taking the drawers out and slotting cut-to-measure shelves in.
The case opens from the front by swinging open the door or you can pull the drawers from the back. The drawers are all labelled for what supplies are supposed to go in them and are marked 'Tweezers pointed', 'pusher', 'cuticle scissors curved no.613' etc. including their price. The front bears the original price - I left the stickers on the back which indicates the price changes over the years and the time in which this cabinet would have been in use.
The coloration of this cabinet is a blue white and grey speckle onto a white base. Some of the speckling has worn off, and continues to do so to this day. It would look great painted in a simple white, but this would mean either painting over the lettering on the back, or painstakingly going around it - or forego painting the backside. The fronts of the drawer are already white.
The drawers themselves are fully functional with plastic dividers. The size of the cabinet on the largest measurements is 16-1/8 inches wide, 19-3/4 inches tall and 11 inches deep
