Charles of the Ritz powder compact, vintage Black enamel round vanity compact foundation rouge
A pretty round black enamel compact by Charles of the Ritz, New York. Charles of the Ritz was founded in 1919 and started marketing beauty products in 1926. They would become mostly known for perfumes. This compact most likley dates ca 1930-1940's. The black enamel is in vintage condition with plenty of small scuffs but no major distracting damage. The brass with signs of wear and age. The inside mirror is whole and the compact still holds a powder cake which is hardly used. The original signed puff is present. It measures 2-3/4 inch across and 1/2 inch tall.
***As with all old cosmetics, it is not advised to still use the powder, but it would display well. It is removable and should be replaced with a fresh one if you intend to use this compact as intended.****
