Chatelaine cheroot holder, love letter stash pendant
A pretty silver plated cheroot holder, this small object would once have dangled from a chatelaine belt. Chatelaine belts would be worn by ladies and hold decorative collections of useful items such as tape measures, scissors, keys, mirrors, etc. This little tube would have held a cheroot - a mouthpiece used for smoking small cigars or cigarettes. In these days, it would be great to wear as a pendant to hold small treasures, needles or special little love notes. Gold plated on the inside, it is in beautiful aged condition with just a touch of wear on the edges. The hanging ring is a touch bent with a small gap. Size: 2-1/8 inches long (without the ring) and 5/8 inch diameter at the widest end.
