1920s blown champagne glasses, tall sherbet glass set of 6
A great set of 6 blown glass champagne glasses or tall sherbet glasses dating ca 1920s. Perfect for the holidays, New Year or a (wedding) party! The sides have been needle etched with bows and garlands, possibly for the occasion of a wedding. The top row of stylized flowers has been gilded, as is the foot rim. The bottom bears a rounded cut-off or pontil mark, the stem an annular knop. The bowl with a thick bottom and thinning toward the rim.
All 6 are in good antique condition with irregularities on their surface, a result of the handmade nature of this item. This includes the rim; they are not perfectly smooth, even though I do not see any fleabites or chips. It looks like the rims may have been gilded originally but that is almost fully gone. There are no cracks or breaks (one larger bubble can be seen on the images). Tiny bubbles can be seen in the glass and they even stand slightly crooked on their stems. The gold trims on the foot is near perfect on 2, a little worn on 2 and quite worn on 2.
Size: 11 cm tall, 10.5 cm diameter on top
